Senior Investment Associate – Growth Equity / Private Equity / Venture Capital
Sydney | CBD Location | $280k package + potentially carry
A highly regarded growth private equity firm is building out its investment team and looking to hire a Senior Investment Associate (equivalent to Associate Director level in many PE funds).
This is a rare opportunity to join a hands-on, partnership-led private equity platform focused on growth investing (not LBOs), working directly with founders, management teams and the Investment Committee.
The Opportunity
You’ll sit at the heart of the investment engine — owning models, shaping investment decisions, and tracking value creation across a concentrated portfolio. This role offers genuine pathway to IC exposure and long-term progression as new funds are launched.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and own complex financial models (entry, exit, valuation, scenarios)
- Run investment committee materials, KPI scorecards and portfolio reporting
- Lead financial due diligence across new investments and exits
- Maintain and evolve fund-level and asset-level models
- Support exit modelling and capital raising preparation (VDRs, investor materials)
- Work closely with founders, operating partners and senior leadership
- Act as a trusted analytical partner across the full investment lifecycle
- Circa 7 years' experience across either Private Equity, Growth Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Corporate Advisory or small cap investment analyst
- Strong M&A experience - know how to run an M&A transaction from start to finish
- Exceptional financial modelling and commercial judgement
- Comfortable owning analysis end-to-end and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Experience across valuation, due diligence and investment decision-making
- PE fund experience helpful but not essential — strong deal exposure matters more
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, intellectually curious and commercially sharp
- Preference for multi-site, multi-jurisdiction service-based industry experience, however, a generalist who understands multiple industries also well regarded
- Growth equity focus — no leverage-heavy LBOs
- Long-term capital, aligned investors, founder partnerships
- Exposure to live deals, exits and new fund launches
