Step into a Senior Category role with real ownership: shape strategy, drive growth, and influence a high-growth FMCG business.
Feeling ready to step into a role where you can genuinely shape category strategy, not just report on it?
If you’re a Senior Category Manager who’s built a solid foundation but is ready to have a bigger say in how category drives the business, this could be your next move.
Who is the company?
This is a high-growth FMCG business undergoing a significant transformation in how it approaches category.
Historically, category has been more inward-looking and analytical. Now, there’s a clear mandate to evolve it into a true commercial growth engine, one that leads strategy, influences decisions, and partners closely with sales, marketing, and customers.
With new leadership in place and strong investment behind the function, this is a chance to join at a pivotal point in that journey.
What’s the opportunity?
This is a Senior Category Manager role with real ownership and impact.
You’ll take the lead on a strategically critical portfolio, shaping the category growth agenda across multiple channels and customers. That means moving beyond reporting and into defining direction, from growth drivers and pricing strategy through to innovation and in-store execution.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, helping to embed a more forward-looking, commercially driven category approach.
There’s also the opportunity to influence how the function itself evolves, from frameworks and ways of working through to how category shows up internally and externally.
It’s a role with breadth, ambiguity, and genuine influence, ideal for someone who wants to move from doing category to leading it.
What experience do you need to have?
You’ll be a strong, commercially minded category professional who can balance strategic thinking with real-world application.
In your current role, you’ll have
• Experience in a Tier 1 FMCG environment or equivalent grounding in best practice category
• A strong understanding of category fundamentals and how they translate into customer outcomes
• Experience building category strategies, growth drivers and or long term plans
• Confidence working cross functionally with sales, marketing and finance
• The ability to turn data into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations
• A proactive, curious mindset, comfortable leaning into ambiguity and building things from the ground up
Experience with Revenue Growth Management, including pricing, price pack architecture and trade investment, will be highly regarded.
Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys influencing, challenging and partnering with others, not sitting behind the data.
Why consider this role?
This is one of those rare opportunities where
• You can take what you’ve learned in a structured environment and actually apply it
• You’ll have real ownership over strategy, not just execution
• You’ll help shape the future of a function, not just operate within it
• There’s genuine scope to broaden your career across commercial, marketing or broader leadership pathways
Are you interested?
If you’re looking for a role where you can have real impact and accelerate your career beyond traditional category pathways, we’d love to have a conversation.
