Lead marketing for a market-leading brand across Australia and New Zealand, with a seat on the executive team and a growing budget.
  • Executive team role leading marketing for a #1 brand across Australia and NZ
  • Significantly scaled budget and the mandate to reset the agency model
  • Report to an empowering CEO in a highly engaged, top-employer culture
  • The Company:

We are a globally recognised business and the clear market leader in our category, with a premium brand trusted by professional users and home consumers alike. Over the past few years, our local leadership team has returned the business to growth and brought Australia and New Zealand together as one Oceania region – a change journey that has delivered exceptionally high employee engagement and recognition as a top employer. With ambitious three-to-five-year growth plans, significant investment in product technology innovation and a deep commitment to our specialist dealer and retail partner network, we're now entering our next phase of growth.

    The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the Marketing Director will lead the marketing function across Australia and New Zealand – spanning brand, product marketing, customer engagement and market development. With the campaign strategy shifting and the marketing budget scaling significantly, the brief is to grow market share and brand awareness, broaden understanding of the full product range, and make marketing a genuine commercial engine for the business. You'll lead a team of six direct reports and one dotted-line report, based in Melbourne.

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Set the Oceania marketing strategy and framework, aligned to global objectives while giving Australia and New Zealand the freedom to win locally
    • Be the voice of the professional and home consumer, using research and insight to shape strategy and identify growth opportunities
    • Own the marketing budget and ROI – removing waste and making clear choices between brand building and short-term activation
    • Lead go-to-market for product launches, campaigns and seasonal initiatives, including retail marketing and point of sale across the dealer network
    • Reset and lead the agency model across the region, building long-term partnerships that deliver measurable outcomes
    • Set a new standard across digital marketing, social, customer engagement platforms and e-commerce, while building the team's capability
    What You'll Bring:
    • Significant marketing experience, including a Head of Marketing or Director role, ideally within FMCG or consumer goods manufacturing
    • Strong commercial acumen, with a sound understanding of trade P&L dynamics and the levers that build or erode brand value
    • Experience with both complex major retailers and fragmented or independent retail networks
    • Broad capability across trade, digital and traditional marketing – and the confidence to translate data from multiple sources into clear choices
    • Multi-market leadership experience, with Australia and New Zealand exposure strongly preferred, plus tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related field
    • A humble, hands-on leadership style – close to the work, able to move from strategy to execution, and a genuine builder of team capability
    Why Join?

This is a highly autonomous executive role with real scope to shape the function, the market and how the region contributes globally. You'll inherit a passionate team and a strong brand, with a significantly scaled budget and the freedom to build the right agency partnerships. You'll report to a CEO with more than two decades in FMCG and consumer goods across sales leadership, category strategy and shopper marketing – a decisive, empowering leader who coaches by asking insightful questions, keeps an open door and is direct and transparent, so you'll always know where you stand. Add a family-owned culture built on humility, honesty and hard work, and genuine investment in development and international career opportunities, and this is a rare chance to lead a market leader into its next chapter.
