Hands-on Head of Finance role with a seat at the leadership table. Shape pricing, margin and cash decisions in a growing business.
An established FMCG business is looking to appoint a commercially minded Head of Finance to lead its finance function and play a key role in business decisions.
Working closely with the leadership team, you’ll have a genuine influence in how the business operates and performs. This goes well beyond reporting the numbers. You’ll be expected to understand what is driving margins, the true cost of serving customers, how pricing decisions are affecting profitability and where the opportunities lie to improve performance.
You’ll lead a small finance team and take ownership of the end-to-end finance function, covering financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, tax and compliance.
This role will be well suited to candidates who has worked in an SME/ lean business environment who is comfortable getting into the detail, manage and support a small team and confidently advise the leadership team.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, wants genuine commercial influence and is equally comfortable managing the day-to-day finance function.

What you’ll be responsible for
- Partnering with the leadership team on pricing, margin and investment decisions
- Leading commercial projects such as cost-to-serve analysis to understand what’s really driving costs
- Owning budgets and forecasts
- Improving working capital, with a focus on DSO and reducing inventory
- Overseeing month-end, management and statutory reporting
- Managing tax compliance and relationships with external advisers and auditors
- Making sure controls and processes keep up as the business grows
- Leading and developing a finance team of 5
- CA/CPA qualified
- 15 years commercial experience and strong team management.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in a multi-national business
- Only candidates from FMCG will be considered for this role
- Experience improving working capital and inventory performance
- Experience working on large ERP systems such as SAP
