We’ve been exclusively engaged to recruit an atypical Group Financial Controller for a well-established, private organisation based in Sydney. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior finance leadership role that blends deep controllership with systems, data and transformation leadership.

The Opportunity

This role goes well beyond “steady-state” financial control. The business is on a clear transformation journey, moving from manual, multi-entity reporting toward a modern, systemised and scalable finance function. You’ll be a key partner to the CFO, leading the accounting agenda while shaping how finance operates into the future.

What You’ll Do

• Own end-to-end group financial control, reporting, audit and compliance across a multi-entity environment
• Lead the accounting workstream within a broader finance transformation program
• Drive systems, data and automation outcomes to reduce manual effort and improve insight
• Redesign and embed fit-for-purpose finance processes and controls
• Lead, develop and uplift a capable accounting team through change
• Partner closely with the CFO, executives and transformation stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Group Financial Controller / senior controllership experience in complex or multi-entity environments
• Strong background in systems, data, automation and ERP-enabled reporting
• Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation and change
• A hands-on leader who can zoom into detail and step back to influence at exec level
• CA/CPA qualified, with strong technical accounting foundations
• Sydney-based
