Interim External Reporting Manager | 6-Month Contract | $180k + Super

An ASX-listed industrial materials group is seeking a highly capable Interim External Reporting Manager, on a 6-month contract, during a critical reporting and transformation period.

This role sits at group level and will work closely with senior finance leadership, auditors, sustainability teams and regional finance teams across ANZ and global operations.

The opportunity
You’ll step into a hands-on, high-impact role covering half-year and year-end activities, technical accounting matters and major reporting transitions. This is a true blend of technical depth, stakeholder engagement and project-based work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting advice across the group (IFRS)
• Lead interim and year-end audit support, liaising with external auditors
• Ensure year-end readiness (roll forwards, accounting papers, memos) and help drive all year-end activities
• Support first-year mandatory sustainability and assurance reporting
• Continue accounting policy uplift and IFRS 16 lease compliance review
• Support transition scoping for IFRS 18 (effective FY27)
• Assess system impacts and reporting changes across ERP and Workiva
• Support listed reporting requirements including REM, revenue and cashflow reporting
• Assist with manual workarounds across major projects (inventory system, revenue recognition changes)
• Partner with regional finance teams and manage competing priorities
• Help with process improvements
• Support M&A transactions from a technical accounting perspective

What we’re looking for

• CA/CPA qualified
• Strong IFRS and ASX-listed reporting experience
• Proven technical accounting capability with clear, concise paper writing
• Experience with SAP, Workiva, Blackline and Hyperion (or similar)
• Experience in industries with fixed assets, inventory, leases, commodities and FX
• Confident working with auditors
• Comfortable operating in complex, large group environments
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Inquisitive, collaborative mindset focused on process improvement
• Able to work across time zones (early US calls required)

• 6-month contract
• $180k package + super (pro rata)
• Flexible hybrid model (3 days office / 2 WFH) - Sydney CBD
• No direct reports
• Exposure to FX, commodities, M&A and large-scale transformation
• Supportive leadership team with reasonable working hours
• Ability to join early morning US calls on a semi-regular basis
