A newly created role leading finance for the Australia and New Zealand business of a global, institutionally backed infrastructure group.
  • Divisional CFO opportunity
  • Financing, Treasury, Investment experience are must haves
  • Capital-intensive, asset-heavy, project-based background
  • The opportunity

This business is in build mode. It's well funded, there's a serious pipeline of work across ANZ, and real capital is going into new sites, expansions and acquisitions. The ANZ arm is still young, so whoever steps in gets to set the finance function up the way they think it should run.

You'd be the most senior finance person in the region, reporting straight to the Group CFO.

    What the job actually covers
    • Financing. Structuring, negotiating and closing construction loans, project finance, refinancings and revolving facilities, then living with the covenants, due diligence and lender reporting afterwards.
    • Treasury and liquidity. Cash flow planning across ANZ, construction drawdowns, letters of credit and surety bonds, plus working with Group on FX and interest rate exposure.
    • Investment cases. Assessing new sites, expansions and acquisitions, working out what gets prioritised, and putting the cases up for approval.
    • Planning and performance. Regional budgets, long-range planning, rolling forecasts, and giving the Group CFO a straight read on how the region is tracking.
    • Accounting, tax and controls. Oversight of close, fixed asset and construction-in-progress accounting, transfer pricing, and both statutory and lender audits.
    • Risk and insurance. Rolling out the global framework locally, covering the construction and operational programs and any claims.
    • Commercial. Financial input into pricing, margin and customer negotiations.
    • The external stuff. Supporting the Group CFO with JV partners, investors, lenders, regulators and auditors.
You're not doing all of that on your own. There's a central specialist team behind you across accounting and tax, treasury, FP&A, and risk and insurance. A fair chunk of this job is using that bench well and knowing what actually needs to land on the CFO's desk.

    What we're after
    • Around 15 years in finance, including time as a senior leader in capital-intensive, asset-heavy or project-based businesses.
    • Real depth in debt and asset financing. You've structured and closed construction or project finance facilities, and then lived with them through delivery.
    • A lender network you can actually pick up the phone to, including offshore contacts. This one counts for a lot.
    • Comfort with SPV or project entity structures, construction-linked cash flows, and how treasury works during a build phase.
    • A background in large-scale infrastructure or real assets. Prior banking experience is a big tick.
    • Someone who can run a region inside a global business, coordinating central functions and holding their own with lenders, partners and a Group CFO.
