URGENT | Fractional CFO – High-Growth Technology Venture
$1,000–$1,500 per day, candidate dependent | 2–3 days per week for 3 months | Immediate start
This is not a traditional CFO role.
This is a hands-on capital-raise mission.
A founder-led technology business with a fully built product is preparing for a major funding round and needs a hands-on, commercially sharp Fractional CFO to help take the story to market.
The technology is proven.
The opportunity is real.
What’s missing is a rock-solid financial model and a CFO who can sit in front of serious investors and own the numbers.
The brief
You will work directly with the founder and go-to-market lead to:
- Build a robust, investor-grade financial model
- Challenge assumptions and pressure-test the commercial logic
- Prepare and lead an Australian investor roadshow
- Front conversations with VCs, PE, Family Offices and HNW investors
- Shape the funding narrative and answer hard questions in real time
- Balance capex burn with recurring revenue and break-even pathways
- This is a doer role, not a reviewer role. You will build the model, not commenting on it.
- Cutting-edge B2B technology operating in an underdeveloped Australian market
- Strong enterprise, government and infrastructure use cases
- Clear pathway to scale once funding is secured
- Lean team, fast decisions, zero politics
- Genuine opportunity to stay on long-term post-raise
- Deep experience as a hands-on CFO in technology businesses - do not apply unless you have solid tech industry experience
- Exceptional financial modelling capability - you will be building a new model from scratch
- Proven success raising capital in Australia
- Comfortable pushing back on founders and sharpening the story
- Existing investor network you can activate (highly desirable not a deal breaker)
- AFSL licence advantageous but not essential
- Sydney-based
- $1,000–$1,500 per day (experience dependent)
- 2–3 days per week for the next 3 months
