You'll lead a team, report into senior finance leadership, and be the person operations turns to when the numbers matter.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead all financial control and reporting - month-end, year-end, management and statutory
- Own project accounting: WIP, revenue recognition and cost forecasting across multiple projects and sites
- Lead audit processes and keep the business audit-ready year-round
- Oversee AP, payroll compliance and balance sheet reconciliations
- Strengthen governance frameworks — internal controls, delegations of authority, consistent financial processes
- Drive improvements in working capital, cash conversion and revenue recognition practices
- Independently validate the financial impact of variations, claims and contract performance
- Partner with Commercial Finance and Operations to keep financial control and project delivery aligned
- CA / CPA qualified with 8+ years in finance roles within project-based environments
- Background in construction, engineering services, infrastructure or maintenance
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability
- Deep experience with project financials — margin analysis, cost forecasting, revenue recognition
- Hands-on and accountable, with the ability to translate financial data into practical insight for non-finance stakeholders
- A strong communicator who can influence across both finance and operations
- Genuine ownership — the financial control agenda for the business is yours to run
- High visibility with executive management and real influence on decision-making
- A business delivering complex, long-term contracts for high-profile clients — no two months look the same
- Lead and develop your own team from the Sydney head office
