    Job Brief
    A full function Financial Accountant role covering general ledger, month end close and tax reporting for a growing business. Suits someone CA or CPA qualified with an audit background who is comfortable owning a broad remit rather than a narrow lane.
     
    About Our Client
    A small, growing business with a lean finance function that reports directly to the CFO. The business operates in a niche area of financial services. Genuine scope to own processes rather than just execute them, in an environment where one person's work is directly visible.
     
    Responsibilities
    • General ledger management, including regular journalling to maintain accurate financial data for internal and external reporting
    • Month end close, including monthly journalling, accruals and reconciliations
    • Assisting with monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
    • Managing accounts payable and receivable functions, including employee expenses and payroll
    • Overseeing daily cash flow and assisting with cash flow forecasting
    • Managing periodic direct and indirect tax reporting, including income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax
    • Liaising with external stakeholders such as auditors, suppliers, the ATO and ASIC, as well as internal stakeholders
    • Assisting with documentation of processes, policies and technical accounting position papers
    • Supporting process improvement and identifying cost savings
    • Additional ad hoc duties as required by the CFO
    Requirements
    • CA or CPA qualified, or close to completion
    • Prior audit background highly regarded
    • Demonstrated experience owning month end close and AU tax reporting
    • Comfortable working across the full function, from transactional to technical
