ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Services, this role provides strategic and operational leadership of the end‑to‑end finance function, leading a mid‑sized finance team. This appointment has a clear mandate to lead the evolution of the finance function, strengthening core financial operations while progressively uplifting capability, systems and ways of working. 

The initial focus will be on stabilising essential finance services, restoring confidence in financial information, and rebuilding strong foundations across people, processes and systems. Over time, the role will lead the enhancement of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, and reposition finance as a trusted business partner across the organisation in a grant‑driven environment.

DUTIES

• Lead and stabilise the financial control function, including month‑end, AP, payroll and data integrity
• Full ownership of budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and long‑range financial planning
• Deliver accurate, timely and trusted financial reporting for executive and board stakeholders
• Analyse key business and funding drivers to provide insight across grants, donations and programs
• Build strong partnerships with senior leaders and operational teams to support planning and delivery
• Oversee internal and external audit processes and strengthen financial governance
• Lead, develop and build a capable, accountable finance team

  SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience leading a full finance function in a complex organisation
• Demonstrated ability to strengthen and evolve finance operations and team capability
• Strong business partnering capability with senior stakeholders
• Experience providing meaningful financial insight to support decision‑making
• Exposure to grant‑funded, project‑based or for‑purpose environments highly regarded
• CA or CPA qualification
