Commercial Finance Manager – Energy Services - Capital Intensive industry

A senior commercial finance leadership role sitting at the heart of a large-scale energy services business undergoing significant growth and transformation.

This role partners closely with executive leadership and commercial teams, acting as a trusted advisor on investment, strategy, pricing, and capital decisions across a large annual contract portfolio. You will be supporting the sales team as they look to win new large-scale infrastructure projects.

Whilst this is a 6-month contract, this is a true temp-to-perm opportunity.

The role

You’ll own the commercial finance agenda, as a business partner to the Sales team, for a large energy services infrastructure portfolio, translating operational performance into clear financial insights that drive decision-making.

Key focus areas include:

• Building and owning driver-based financial models for investment, strategy, business planning, pricing and capital raising
• Producing cashflow, valuation and scenario models used at Board, Executive and investor level
• Acting as a trusted financial advisor to senior leaders on complex commercial decisions
• Supporting Information Memorandums, investment cases and external funding processes
• Delivering clear, defensible financial insights under tight timeframes
• Automating and improving modelling processes to enable rapid iteration
• Partnering closely with treasury, corporate finance and strategy teams
• Leading and developing finance capability, lifting standards across reporting and modelling

What you’ll bring:

• Strong commercial finance or investment background
• Advanced financial modelling capability (cashflow, valuation, scenario analysis) - advanced-to-expert Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Experience supporting investment decisions, capital allocation or large infrastructure projects
• Experience supporting Sales teams
• Ability to operate credibly with senior executives and external stakeholders
• Strong commercial judgement — able to challenge assumptions and defend outcomes
• Backgrounds from corporate finance, infrastructure, energy, investment or any heavy capital-intensive industries is a must
• CA / CPA / CFA (or equivalent) highly regarded
