What’s the opportunity?

We’re partnering with a fast-growing payments technology business looking to appoint a Business Development Manager into its Sydney team.

These roles will focus on building and growing strategic client relationships, leading account growth and winning new business across a mix of verticals. A key area of focus will be deepening relationships with major financial institutions, while also driving opportunities across other sectors including retail and hospitality.

You’ll take ownership of your portfolio end to end, from identifying new opportunities and leading commercial proposals through to contract negotiation, account growth and ongoing client management.

This is a role for someone who enjoys both the front end of winning business and the longer-term work of building trusted, commercially valuable partnerships.

What will you be doing?

  • Grow and develop strategic enterprise accounts across payments and adjacent sectors
    • Identify and convert new business opportunities, including formal bids and RFPs
    • Build commercial proposals, lead negotiations and manage contract governance
    • Own revenue targets, quarterly forecasting and overall portfolio performance
    • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across your customer base
    • Work cross-functionally with teams across operations, finance, legal, marketing and technology to deliver strong customer outcomes
    • Act as the voice of the customer internally, helping shape better service and solutions

What experience do you need to have?

You’ll be a commercially driven sales professional with experience in payments technology, fintech or financial services .

In your current or recent role, you’ll likely have
  • Proven experience managing and growing enterprise clients
    • Strong new business capability alongside strategic account management skills
    • Confidence leading commercial proposals, negotiations and complex sales cycles
    • Experience working with or selling into major banks or large financial institutions would be highly regarded
    • The ability to explain complex solutions in a clear, commercially compelling way
    • Strong forecasting, planning and revenue management capability

You’ll be someone who can build trust quickly, operate with pace and maturity, and work confidently across multiple client opportunities at once.
