CFO Collective: June 2026
Welcome to the June 2026 edition of the
[axr]
CFO Collective
Hi,
Australia’s economy has entered a slower-growth phase, with inflation easing but remaining above the RBA’s target and the cash rate held at 4.35%. While labour market conditions remain resilient, economic momentum has softened, prompting businesses to sharpen their focus on productivity, cost control, capital allocation and cash generation.
Against this backdrop, demand for senior finance talent remains selective but resilient. Boards are prioritising commercially minded CFOs and Finance Directors who can lead transformation, improve operational performance, optimise capital deployment and provide strategic leadership through an increasingly complex and uncertain operating environment.
Experience across transformation, M&A, performance improvement and stakeholder engagement continues to command a premium. Given the focus required by many senior finance professionals at this time on financial year end we are seeing less movements out of executive roles consistent with this time of year. Movements typically show an upward trend towards the end of Q3 of the calendar year.
