Research your preferred destination, develop your market insight and clarify your personal objectives

Time your approach: call 4 - 6 weeks prior to arrival for contract positions. If you are eligible for permanent work, the more lead time you can provide the better the outcome that can be managed.
Review and if required improve your CV so that it is relevant and informative. A couple of useful tips: -
- Add information about the companies that you have worked for. Remember that an employer in a different country may not know your previous employers.
- Add in your Visa status / information about your right to work.
- Add in detail explaining national education or professional qualifications - remember that all education systems differ. Where possible, explain what your qualification means.
- Highlight transferable skills (e.g. knowledge of international systems or standards).
